To Create a new Google My Map
Go to Google My Maps
Click on [Create a New Map] (on mobile devices, its the red circle at the bottom right)
Click where it says "Untitled Map" and give your map a name (on mobile devices, you may have to click on [LEGEND] first)
Click on "Import" and import the CSV file you exported in the first step
On the next screen (Choose columns to position your placemarks), select the Address, Town and Postcode columns, and click on [Continue]
On the next screen (Choose a column to title yoiur markers), select the Name column, and click on [Finish]
Once the map has loaded, click where it says "Uniform Style"
Under "Group places by", click on the drop-down and change the value to "Style by data column:" and "Visited"
Colours are selected automatically, you can change them by hovering over the style name (either "Y" or "Other./No value"), then click the paint icon and select a colour and optionally an icon
To Update an existing Google My Map
If you already have created a Google My Map, and have visited mnore pubs, you can update your existing map as follows:
Go to Google My Maps
Click on the existing map (on mobile devices, you may have to click on [LEGEND] first)
Next to the file name (whatever.csv), click on the three dots and select Reimport and merge -> Reimport -> Update matching items
Select the CSV file you exported in the first step
On the next screen (Select column to match place), under "Layer data", select the Postcode column
Under "Uploaded data" select the Visited column
Click on [Finish]
Click to return to the main page.
